Meet Dr. Rogers
Leif Rogers, M.D., FACS
Leif Rogers obtained his medical degree at Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons. He completed three years of general surgery residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital, as well as a two-year research fellowship focusing on tissue engineering at Columbia and Carnegie Mellon Universities. This was followed by two years of plastic and reconstructive surgical training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where he became proficient in advance microsurgical and reconstructive techniques. He completed a cosmetic fellowship at Lenox Hill and Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospitals, training with many of the contemporary masters of aesthetic surgery. He is also the recipient of grants from Columbia University, Plastic Surgery Education Fund and the National Institute of Health.
Dr. Rogers has taken part in academic research on subjects including: anorexia nervosa, breast carcinoma, wound healing, skin grafts, tissue engineering and bone regeneration as well as being a co-author on numerous research articles. His research has been published in such medical journals the Journal of Reconstructive Microsurgery, The Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Journal and The Journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Dr. Rogers is certified in the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is thoroughly trained in reconstructive techniques for much of the human body. He was a diplomat for the American Board of Plastic Surgery in 2005 for the United States Medical Licensing Examination.
Today, Dr. Rogers enjoys a combined reconstructive and cosmetic practice in Beverly Hills, California where he specializes in microvascular reconstruction of the breast and the latest techniques in facial rejuvenation and body contouring.
Dr. Rogers is on staff at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica and performs advanced trauma reconstructions as a member of the trauma team at the Cancer Center at the Huntington Hospital in Pasadena.
He is the recipient of the Compassionate Doctor Recognition from Vitals in 2009 & 2010 and has been profiled in Pasadena Magazine.
Dr. Rogers is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery, a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the American Society of Peripheral Nerve, as well as numerous professional and community organizations.
Additionally, Dr. Rogers is affiliated with charitable and educational organizations. He is on the Board of Directors for the Afghanistan World Foundation and will lead a team to Afghanistan to train Afghan doctors in techniques that will help in emergency health services and reconstruction. He is also a Member of Iraq Star, a national non-profit foundation dedicated to providing reconstructive surgeries to wounded Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans helping them return to their pre-war lives. He works as part of a volunteer medical team for HELPs International to bring free medical services to rural communities in Guatemala and Mexico. Dr. Rogers is also privileged to participate in the training of surgical residents at the USC Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Dr. Rogers has served as a medical consultant for educational and reality television programming and has appeared on CBS’s The Doctors, Joan & Melissa: Joan Knows Best on WEtv and Pretty Hurts on Logo TV.
