Contouring (Skin Removal)

Many of us struggle with those last few, troublesome inches around the arms, legs, waist and hips. No amount of exercising or dieting seems to help. One solution for addressing these issues is contouring. Contouring can be applied almost anywhere on your body. Contouring is the general term used to describe shaping areas of your body through the removal of excess skin and tissue, but also refers to liposuction and can include a combination of these procedures.

Whereas liposuction removes the fat cells from the inside and may tighten the exterior skin, contouring removes skin that has lost its elasticity and is sagging. Contouring is commonly used to remove and tighten sagging skin on the neck, upper arms, lower back, abdominal areas, and inner thighs.

Good candidates for contouring include those that have experienced significant weight loss, have recently had a baby, or older individuals whose loss of skin elasticity reduces the effectiveness of liposuction, and thus requires the physical removal and tightening of skin.
