Liposuction
Liposuction is among the most popular cosmetic surgery procedures available today. Liposuction is the process of surgically removing fatty deposits from underneath the skin. The procedure can be performed on the body and face, in both males and females, and on patients ranging from their late teens to 60-plus. If you are struggling with a troublesome area of fat that you haven’t been unable to get rid of with diet and exercise, Liposuction can help. Liposuction is not a solution for obesity and patients seeking treatment should be at a steady weight for 6-12 months before undergoing the procedure.
There are several different techniques including traditional liposuction which involves surgically inserting a thin, hollow metal rod with suction capability into the areas to be treated; ultrasonic liposuction which includes a high frequency wave treamtent to lessen blood loss; and laser liposuction which uses lasers to help break down fat deposits making them easier to suction out.
With any technique, you can expect to be down for about one to two weeks, and refrain from strenuous activity for about a month. Bruising and swelling can last anywhere from one month to six months. All techniques have their risks and benefits. Dr. Rogers will work closely with you to determine the best method for you, your body and your life.
