Eye Surgery – Upper
Upper Blepharoplasty
As we age, the skin around the eyes begins to stretch, the muscles slacken and extra tissue can accumulate above the eyes. Even with good skin care, wrinkles, puffiness and drooping eyelids can appear and cause the eyes to look saggy and tired.
A medical condition known as ptosis, which is caused by poor muscle tone or nerve damage, can cause the upper eyelids to droop.
A surgical procedure called upper blepharoplasty, more commonly referred as an eye lift, is a procedure which removes fat, skin, and, when necessary, muscle around the eye in order to give the face a tighter, more youthful appearance. Upper blepharoplasty is one of the most popular surgical procedures available today for facial rejuvenation. The procedure results in a more rested and alert appearance.
If you are struggling with saggy upper eyelids or if you have extra skin on the upper eyelid due to ptosis and it is affecting your vision, an eye lift can offer you relief from your condition and improve the look and contours of your eyes and face.
