A variety of factors contribute to signs of an aging face. Lifestyle plays an important role. Our delicate facial skin also steadily loses its elasticity with passing time, and we lose density in the bone structure of our face, resulting in even looser, baggier looking skin.

Candidates for a Facelift

For patients seeking to freshen the look of their face with more permanent results than injectable treatments can offer, a Facelift may be the answer.

The Procedure

The term “Facelift” is a bit of a misnomer. Usually thought of as one surgery, the “Facelift” is actually made up of several different procedures – sometimes performed during the same surgical session and sometimes separated out. There is a distinct difference between an Eyebrow Lift and Upper Eyelid surgery, and typically one – but not both – are performed. Sometimes a Cheek Lift is suitable, while other times a combination of Lower Eyelid surgery and a Neck Lift is appropriate. Full Facelift results are long-lasting, typically 10 years or more.

When considering which treatment option is best for you, Dr. Rogers will discuss the trade-off between downtime and results to determine the best option that fits your condition and your lifestyle. A full consultation is needed to determine which type of Facelift is right for you.

The Recovery

The recovery time following a full Facelift is typically about two weeks. Patients should expect to experience swelling and bruising around their face, which generally subsides within the two week recovery period.
