Who Qualifies for Radiesse?

Radiesse® is recommended for adults who are 18 years of age or older and in good overall health. It is most effective for patients who have mild to moderate wrinkles, fine lines, and facial folds and who have good skin quality overall. The treatment area is typically around the mouth, nose, and chin, as well as to add volume to the cheeks or other areas of the face.

The Radiesse Experience

Before the day of your procedure, we’ll advise you to avoid taking aspirin or other blood-thinning medications for at least one week prior to the procedure, as these can increase the risk of bleeding and bruising in the treatment area.

The length of your Radiesse treatment will vary according to the number of areas being treated and the amount of filler being injected. Most treatments typically take around 30 minutes to complete, at which point you’ll be able to leave our office and rejoin your activities.

During the session, you’ll be offered a topical numbing agent to keep you comfortable, at which point your practitioner will carefully make the injections with a fine-gauge needle. Your session will be done in under an hour, making this an ideal “lunch break” procedure.

Your Recovery and Results

The recovery time after the injection session is generally minimal, and most patients can return to their normal activities immediately after the procedure. Some patients, however, may experience mild swelling or redness. After your session, you’ll notice an immediate plumping effect, added volume, and smoothed-out wrinkles and fine lines in the treatment area.
