Putting Precision First

Some treatments improve skin by resurfacing broad areas all at once, while others work by creating precise, purposeful transformations in smaller zones. At Leif Rogers, MD, we offer ProFractional treatments to patients who want targeted improvement in scarring, texture, and mild laxity while keeping surrounding tissue largely undisturbed throughout the process.

What Is ProFractional?

ProFractional uses fractional laser technology to create precise micro-injuries across your skin, stimulating collagen production within those areas while leaving the tissue between them intact. This selective approach allows for faster healing than treatments that resurface skin more broadly. Many of our Beverly Hills and Pasadena patients are drawn to ProFractional for the following benefits:

  • Targeted improvement without broad surface disruption
  • Faster healing compared to full resurfacing treatments
  • Effective results for scarring, texture, and mild laxity
  • Suitability for both facial and body treatment areas

Why Choose Leif Rogers, MD?

ProFractional's effectiveness depends on precise zone spacing and depth, variables that directly affect both your healing time and your final results. Our aesthetic team has refined this specific skill through consistent, high-volume use of ProFractional and the full Sciton Joule X suite, helping us ensure your skin type, tone, and condition are fully compatible with the treatment. Every treatment plan is personally reviewed by our founder, Dr. Leif Rogers, MD, FACS. As a board-certified, Ivy League-trained plastic surgeon, he confirms that each patient’s case is aligned with ProFractional’s capabilities, and he’ll direct you to a more appropriate treatment if necessary.

What to Expect From Your ProFractional Treatments in Beverly Hills and Pasadena

How Fractional Treatment Zones Work

ProFractional creates a pattern of microscopic treatment columns, or microinjuries, across your skin, leaving surrounding tissue untouched to support faster recovery. This fractional approach allows meaningful collagen stimulation without the more extensive downtime associated with full resurfacing treatments.

Addressing Your Exact Concerns

ProFractional is designed to target a wide range of concerns involving both textural irregularities and mild structural change. Most often, patients come to us to treat the following:

  • Mild to moderate acne scarring
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Early textural aging
  • Body scarring, including stretch marks
  • Mild skin laxity

During your one-on-one consultation, your aesthetician will confirm whether ProFractional is the optimal treatment for your specific concerns and goals.

Designed for Your Comfort

To begin your session, your aesthetician will apply a topical numbing agent to your treatment area and allow time for it to take full effect. Then, they’ll glide the ProFractional device over your skin in a calibrated pattern tailored to your specific concern. Sessions typically last 30-45 minutes, depending on the size of your treatment area.

Your Unique Treatment Schedule

Most patients complete a series of three to four ProFractional sessions spaced four to six weeks apart. This intentional spacing allows for adequate healing time between treatments as collagen gradually rebuilds within the skin.

A Faster Path Through Recovery

Recovery after ProFractional treatments in Beverly Hills and Pasadena is generally quicker than with fully ablative treatments addressing similar concerns. Most patients notice redness and mild swelling for two to four days following treatment, along with small areas of pinpoint scabbing that will resolve naturally as healing progresses.

Avoid picking or scratching at any scabs to allow your skin to heal without disruptions. Most patients in Beverly Hills and Pasadena return to normal activities within a few days, with visible healing settling more quickly than broader resurfacing options. We recommend avoiding prolonged, direct sun exposure for at least 48 hours to give your skin time to settle.

Your Post-Treatment Process

After your ProFractional session, we’ll provide you with aftercare guidance designed to support your skin's targeted healing zones. This plan may include the following:

  • Gentle cleansing recommendations
  • Sun protection and exposure requirements
  • Skincare ingredients to avoid until fully healed
  • Guidance on caring for pinpoint scabbing
  • Side effects to monitor
  • Timeline for safely resuming makeup and skincare

Over the coming weeks, you’ll return to either our Beverly Hills or Pasadena practice for short follow-up visits with our team. There, your aesthetician will track your healing progress throughout your treatment series and adjust your treatment plan as needed.

Focused Renewal, Visible Over Time

Because ProFractional stimulates collagen within precisely targeted zones, your results will develop gradually as those areas rebuild and blend with surrounding tissue. Most patients notice smoother texture and reduced scarring within four to eight weeks, with continued improvement throughout the series.

ProFractional Frequently Asked Questions

Can ProFractional treat stretch marks?

Yes. ProFractional is commonly used to improve the appearance of stretch marks by stimulating collagen production within the treated skin. During your consultation, your aesthetician will evaluate your stretch marks and determine whether ProFractional is an appropriate treatment option.

Will I see visible dots on my skin after treatment?

Yes. Small pinpoint scabs are a normal part of the healing process after ProFractional treatment. These temporary marks typically resolve within about a week and indicate that your skin is responding to the treatment.

How many ProFractional sessions will I need for scarring?

Most patients benefit from a series of three to four ProFractional treatments to achieve noticeable improvement in acne scars or other types of scarring. Your aesthetician will recommend a personalized treatment plan based on the severity of your scarring and your skin's response to treatment.

Is ProFractional safe for use on the body as well as the face?

Yes. ProFractional can be used on both the face and body to treat concerns such as acne scars, surgical scars, and stretch marks. Your aesthetician will customize the treatment settings based on the area being treated and your individual skin needs.
